Menstrual cramps or Dysmenorrhea are pains in the abdominal (belly) and pelvic areas that are experienced by a woman as a result of her menstrual period.
I have never tried checking out the drugstore for midol or any medicine to relieve the menstrual cramps because I just dislike the idea that my liver has to suffer digesting these foreign objects, so here are some of my tips to avoid these pains in a more natural way, which always work for me:
- During your period, avoid sitting for long periods because it will make the blood stop from flowing. Remember, the blood wants to come out from your vagina so if you did not let it, it will cause cramps.
- As much as possible, wear not so tight underwear, pants, etc. When I am at home and I have the period, I love wearing large undies, skirt or any loose-fitting dress.
- Eat lots of fruits and vegetables. (Plant Mulberry trees today. Its fruit contains sugar and tastes delicious!)
- Avoid stress and depressions. Always smile and accept the fact that having menstrual period is part of being a woman.
