Okay. Jhoana’s turn now:

According to my height scale chart, my height is 5’6, not bad for a ramp model wannabe, right? How about you, how tall are you, girls? If you’re an Asian, you’ll probably stand 5’8 below but if you’re from the west you’ll stand 5’8 above.

However, have you ever hated how long or short you stand? In my case, I sometimes do, but most of the time I love being tall! It is true that sometimes an awkward thing when it comes to men because they usually find shorter ladies better than taller ones, that’s why these boys are having a hard time approaching me. lol.

I’m going to show you a picture about an experience where I think this guy was so conscious having me as his partner:

See? I think I’m 2 inches taller than him.

But on the other side, people especially my relatives were staring at me because I was tall, and the dress fits me well, that made me think that being tall is better. And they were telling me that it would be better if I’ll try modeling. Good thing they told me that thing or else I will be thinking of that guy the whole day.

About being not that tall, now let’s talk about it! If you’re a pure Filipino, let’s admit it, most of us don’t stand tall, the usual range is from 4’5 to 5 flat. Agree? If you’re one of them, have you hated being short? Maybe others will say no and more will say yes!

Don’t be sad. Let me share to you some advantages about being short:

  • You’re always in front of the line if it’s arranged according to height.
  • You don’t have to spend lots of cloth when you’ll be wearing a long gown! (it will be called as short gown! Haha just kidding!). :D
  • You’ll be always mistaken younger than your age.
  • Less height= less shoe size, then, you will not be having a hard time finding a stuff that will fit you.
  • As I’ve said, most men look for shorter women, so you’ll get their eyes easily.

So, now that you have read these advantages, will you still dislike your height? Will you be awkward about it? Or you will stand up straight and see the better view of being tall or short?

Share your experiences, too, ladies.

    Nice post.

I think I would still prefer more to be short than having a height of 5’8 or 5’9. And I think it’s nice to be hugged and be wrapped around by his shoulders who is taller and bigger than me.

    awwww.

  2. Brittany E. says:

Sometimes I’d like to be shorter so I could wear heels without feeling like the jolly green giant!

HAHA lol. I can totally relate with this post. Hey dude, 5’7 1/2″ ‘to, haha! Being short isn’t either way too bad, albeit vulnerable for some instances. :)) HAHA. Kiddin’

  8. Jaylee says:

    Well I think Im 5’2 or 5’3.
so more or less 163cm. It’s usual here in Europe even if I have some asian blood ^ ^
Well in a couple I prefer the girl shorter than the guy. But it’s my opinion right ? LoL.
But if there is much much love it doesn’t matter isn’t it ? Just like in Lovely Complex (manga, film, anime) yeah.

  9. janelle says:

im not tall. but i’m not a midget ha! and honestly, i want to be tall :)

  10. Ed says:

I remember I had a female classmate who was tall and big-boned. We called her Andre The Giant.

I like short girls, and my sweetheart only knows why. :D I like hugging. Wrapping my arms around a short girl is like you’re telling her, “I’m all yours and you’re all mine!”

Also, it’s easier for me to lift her up on the wedding going to our room. Hehehe!

  11. Jennie says:

i really envy those people who have long legs! huhu  but hey! i love my height. haha! mas cute daw kasi yung mga petite. wohoho~ pero maganda naman yung matatangkad! basta pareho lang un. :p

  12. ishii says:

naku ang tangkad mo .. ako 4″11 ako .. hindi man lang umabot sa kahit 5″ na lang .. darn.. ako gusto ko talaga tungkad kahit konti lang ..

  13. exene says:

I’m Filipino and I’m like 4’11 to 5 but my ID says I’m 5’1”
I actually HATE being in front of the line and just because I’m short doesn’t mean I have a small shoe size…I have big feet. I don’t think there is anything wrong with a short guy being with a tall girl. People say it doesn’t look right but they should mind their own business, couples aren’t suppose to be matching displays.

  14. Jayne says:

I have a female cousin that stands 5’7″ and because of her very slim figure and dark skin, sometimes she’s mistaken to be a gay man. At times, too, she expresses problems about her height as some Filipino men aren’t really that tall, but like the guest blogger expressed, there are certainly pros and cons.

As for me, I think I am already comfortable with my 5’4″ height. Being this big, if I get taller that that, people might joke me for a giant already.

  15. casey says:

    You’re lucky sis. I’m only 5’1

  16. Anna says:

Ah, the height issue! I stand 5’1″ and I really don’t like it. I’m pure Filipina but I’d rather be taller. It seems that being taller has more advantages than being shorter, especially in the world of careers/jobs. :ooh:

  17. Chie says:

ooh. i wanna be short. i hate being so tall!

  18. Salve says:

I think the first thing a person should do is accept herself. If you like like what you have, people will like you as well. iba ang nagagawa ng aura di ba?

  19. monica says:

    height doesn’t matter…
ako, don’t know if matangkad ako…
    well, i’m 5ft & 4 1/2 inches tall :D

  20. shane says:

It is how you handle yourself… If you dislike your height you’ll just see the disadvantages of it… you just need to accept and be happy with it.. Love yourself! height doesn’t matter…

  21. Fia says:

    I think I’d rather be so-so, around 5’4 or 5’3 is enough. :)

  22. Christie says:

Wow sis, you are so tall! Me? I don’t know what’s my permanent height, though I’m still growing(still 11 yrs. old). as of now, im still 5 ft. maybe my height wud increase more in d coming years! haha.

  23. Mariel says:
