Diamonds are Forever
Why is the diamond a stone of pledge? The stone of promise?
Diamond is a stone of promise because diamonds are forever so are promises – well, promises should be forever. A diamond is the hardest stone and it is impervious to almost anything else in the world. It is representative of the permanence of a relationship.
In fact, many men regret the day the diamond caught the attention of the pussy cats. hehehe. I keed! I keeed!
But come on, your lady deserves a Diamond ring too.

This reminds me of the “Frost Yourself” commercial in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days! Oh, and how to make your guy watch S&TC? Easy! Just tell him there’s sex in it

Actually, DeBeers is the company that began marketing diamonds as ‘forever’ and as a symbol of love. Engagement rings and such used to be made with sapphires back in Victorian times, I believe.
