Have you ever wondered how did the Blonde Jokes and Dumb Blonde start? The dumb blonde is a accepted culture typecast, which is applied to blonde-haired women. Blond jokes started a long time ago. We may not find the real history how it got started, but it is no different than jokes about nationalities so no one should be insulted or be offended.
Many famous celebrities like Marilyn Monroe and Reese Witherspoon (Legally Blonde) have played characters tagged as dumb blondes too.
To wrap this up, I think women with blond hair are so good that the people started to make stuff to tear these blondes down.

I don’t think one should be based on their hair colour. There are smart blondes and dumb blondes, just as there are smart brunettes and dumb brunettes. But I must say, the dumb blonde jokes are quite hilarious… no offense xD

Sometimes I say dumb blonde jokes, but I don’t actually believe in them :P. I think it’s stupid to judge someone’s intelligence based on their hair colour.

I think Blonde Jokes are offensive but funny as well. Even though all blondes aren’t like that, there are some that are ditzy and dumb. Thats where the Blonde Jokes come into play.

about the blondes… i’m really wondering why they’re always portrayed as “beautiful”. but this post made me think. like what you’ve said, beautiful blonde women are always portrayed as “dumb” like in legally blonde. this made me jump into conclusion that the price of being beautiful is having a brain that does not function well. LOL!

I never really got those “dumb blond” jokes either. I mean, I’m blond but definitely not dumb. Also, I don’t think that someone’s intelligence should be judged by their hair color, just as a person should not be judged by their skin color or their gender. So if racism and sexism is wrong, then why can people still judge and criticize intelligence by the factor of having blond hair? Usually I’m not offended, but I do think this can get a little irritating and it’s no longer funny at all. I see people are also speaking of movies like “Legally Blond.” Well, she did become a Valedictorian in the end, didn’t she? So obviously she IS smart. But anyways, I just think these jokes are pointless and stupid.
